Jasz founded Tackussanu Senegal in March 2019. Her products were formed from handmade and functional gifts she had been given over the years. As Jasz started considering expanding her business, she began looking at the baskets she had accumulated. Through research she quickly learned the items she had were all made by women in Senegal using traditional artistry.
After meeting many of these women, Jasz became part of the design process and final product – creating a mutually beneficial relationship for both parties. Their design process is approached differently from most industry standards. Tackussanu Senegal Products lean into the idea of authentically telling the story of their artisan partners while also advocating for direct impact on the community.
They are creating bridges from Senegal to the USA, connecting people, products, and possibilities.

Johanna Howard grew up in Sweden where she developed a keen design eye and a firm belief in buying things to last. After moving to the US, she became a successful clothing designer, while simultaneously broadening her love of textiles and knack for color.
When Johanna began her new venture as a Black-owned home goods and decor company, she took these passions with her. Johanna Howard Home started with a simple idea – throws and pillows should be designed for humans, not just homes. Designs that capture moods and memories, textiles that crave to be touched, and colors that change your day.
Johanna Howard works with artisan weavers and family-owned mills in Peru and Portugal, rewarding them fairly, and exchanging skills and knowledge. They make sure to use sustainable baby alpaca, cotton, and wool, weaving textiles that are made to last. The Johanna Howard Home collection was born from a small family idea that blossomed into a big family story.

The concept for Linoto began in 2007 when founder and creative director Jason Evege was shopping for real linen sheets and was unable to find any set in a simple, modern style for less than $1,000. Additionally, there was a four to six week waiting period for delivery from Europe. The frustration from this search resulted in Jason making his own set of linen sheets as well as a few sets for friends and family. The sheets were a huge hit and it was suggested that he set up a website and see if there was demand. He was fortunate to have his degree in fashion design from the University of Cincinnati, his skills, and the machinery required to try his ideas without large capital investments. With an incredible amount of hard work, this Black-owned linen company grew to become extremely successful.
Today Linoto makes amazing, real linen sheets that help you sleep better, and linen spa towels that rejuvenate and refresh your bath and shower experience. Most importantly, they make beautiful, soft, artisanal quality products that enhance the quality of time spent at home.
